Over the years the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation (BPACF)
has honored and recognized many prominent African-American professionals in the community. The tradition each year has been to recognize one outstanding leader at the annual Scholarship and Awards Gala fundraiser.  This year BPACF will break tradition and celebrate all past Black Professional of the Year honorees and Lifetime Achievement Award winners, while recognizing the academic success of students who have been awarded scholarships.

BPACF will celebrate 30 years of excellence at our Celebratory
Salute  on Thursday, October 21, 2010, 6 p.m. at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel 24
Public Square, Cleveland, Ohio 44113.

Natoya Walker-Minor Appointed President

Posted in Announcements with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 1, 2010 by cardalacarter

BPACF PresidentAs you may have heard by now we are excited to announce that we have appointed BPACF trustee Mrs. Natoya Walker Minor, as our new president. Her term began at the first of the year and she succeeds the unexpired term of Scenario Adebesin after Adebesin accepted the position of Senior Vice President and Manager of Community Development with Fifth Third Bank in Indianapolis. We miss Scenario dearly and wish her and family all the best in neighboring Indiana. Meanwhile, Natoya’s transition into the role has been smooth and her excitement and dedication to the foundation has been clear and evident to her BPACF peers. As Chief of Public Affairs for the City of Cleveland under the stewardship of Mayor Frank Jackson, Walker Minor remains committed to community development and interests both professionally and personally. She brings a wealth of experience to BPACF and we are certain that she will pick up where Scenario left off—–sustaining the incomparable legacy of the foundation in the community.

Greetings and thank you for visiting our brand new blog! As we enter 2010 celebrating 30 amazing years we hope to use this platform to keep you abreast to all of the new and exciting things happening this year. Many in the Cleveland community know us as the organization that selects and honors the Black Professional of the Year with our annual awards gala. While this is indeed true BPACF is so much more and our hope is that through attending our events, visiting our website, our Facebook page, reading our updates & posts you will come to learn about the diverse events/programs we host to benefit African-American students in the Northeastern Ohio area to further their college education.

So whether you’re interested in volunteer opportunities with us, attending programs or events, making charitable donations to the foundation, or a longtime supporter and fan, check back often and feel free to leave comments or questions to stay connected with Cleveland’s oldest scholarship granting foundation for African-American students.
